Fame On A Friday : Further Proof That Will Smith Is A Gift To Interviews

Will Smith never fails to deliver memorable and entertaining interviews, while some people trot out the same anecdotes in a desperate attempt to seem interesting, he seems to have the natural knack for making a person feel that they have experienced something unique. This week was no exception, as he joined Graham Norton with his son, Jaden, and reunited with his ‘Fresh Prince’ cohorts to create a TV moment that is enough to make a pop culture buff’s head explode.

Thursday Me Time : Ever Wonder How Animals Eat Their Food?

It’s not secret that I spend a good portion of my free time on YouTube, whether it’s catching up with the latest watercooler moments or rewatching my favourite episodes of ‘Supersizers Go…’ (seriously, watch the 80’s one), so it seems appropriate to share my new favourite: How Animals Eat Their Food.
WARNING: Do not try to act this out to your friends in a crowded pub, it may lead to chaos and soggy socks. Trust me.

Monday Pick Me Up : Dogs in Tights Will Make Anyone Happy

20130410-235945.jpg

When you’re having one of those days, when it seems like everything is going wrong, just look at these photos of dogs in tights. And be happy.

The person who first thought to put a pair of tights on their dog is a genius. Thank you mystery person, for making my week that little bit brighter.

YouTube’s genius April Fool’s prank is worth a watch if only for the indignant comments that it created…I do love a YouTube troll.

Saturday Pot Luck: Family Guy and teddy bears collide, hilarity ensues

The latest upcoming film that has peaked my interest is Ted, a Seth MacFarlane production that finds Mark Wahlberg dealing with his bad mouthed teddy bear friend, who came to life many years previously. From what I can tell, Marky Mark has to choose between growing up and starting a new life with Mila Kunis or staying young with his furry stoner friend – not exactly groundbreaking stuff. But hey I might be wrong, and the trailer made me laugh so I’ll be heading to my local cineplex when it comes out.

Monday Pick Me Up: Jimmy Fallon wiggle wiggles with Bruce Springsteen

In a reprisal of their memorable Whip My Hair performance, Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Fallon teamed up once again on the latter’s late night talk show to perform their rendition of LMFAO’s Sexy And I Know It. There really are no words to describe the wiggle wiggle-ing that takes place, you’ll just have to watch it for yourself.

Saturday Pot Luck: Anti-Twilight hilarity of the week

I am a rather avid user of StumbleUpon, and it’s pretty much guaranteed that a lengthy stumbling session will result in some form of webpage that mercilessly lampoons the polarising mound of  dung that is Twilight. This time it was an article on http://www.io9.com which posed the question: what would the Twilight stories have been like under the pen of another writer, rather than that of the godawful waste of ink that is Stephanie Meyer. Can you tell that I’m not her biggest fan? Call me crazy, but wrapping up Mormon beliefs into every teen girl’s fantasy and then throwing in a demon baby and lots of blood isn’t exactly what I would call literature. And I am completely lost for words on the merit of a teenage boy falling in love with a newborn as a romantic plot device.

Anyway, enough Twiglit bashing, back to the article. My personal favourite is that of Haruki Murakami (devised by a commenter called Benk):

Bella has sex with Edward, who is half a ghost. Jacob is a talking cat. Most of the prose is given over to descriptions of Bella making pasta.

Enjoy.
